How to Make BBQ Chicken Wraps
This recipe is made with shredded chicken or rotisserie chicken. This recipe is more about combining your ingredients.
Take a large bowl and add chicken, cheese, diced onion, sliced scallion, and BBQ sauce.
Toss to combine and coat all the ingredients. If needed add more BBQ sauce to taste.
Now take a large tortilla and start layering. Take half a cup of the chicken mixture and put it on one side of the tortilla.
Roll up the tortilla burrito-style and set it aside. Repeat for the remaining three tortillas.
Preheat a cast-iron skillet and spray with cooking spray. When medium-hot put the tortillas in the skillet with the seam side down.
Keep a close eye on the tortillas and turn every couple of minutes as tortillas can brown really fast.
When the tortillas are golden brown take the wraps out of the skillet and serve immediately.
Can You Make BBQ Chicken Wraps Ahead of Time?
You can make these wraps ahead but I recommend you keep the tortillas and the BBQ chicken separate until you are ready to serve them.
As there is some moisture in the chicken mixture chances are the tortillas can get soggy if you make them ahead.
So, store the chicken mixture in the fridge and stack it up when you want to prepare the wraps.
Can You Freeze BBQ Chicken?
Yes, you can freeze this barbecue chicken mixture but do not add any lettuce as lettuce doesn’t freeze well.
Put it in an airtight container and label then you can store it for up to 3 months in the freezer.
How to Serve BBQ Chicken Wraps
This wrap is great to serve and eat on its own but you can make it taste even better.
